Condolence telegram to the american people and the albanian people

Through the U.S. diplomatic missions in Tirana, Prishtina, and Skopje, and through the media

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear Citizens,

With deep sorrow, we received the news of the passing of American Congressman Eliot Engel.

In these moments of mourning, we extend our most sincere condolences to the American people, and especially to the people of New York, whom he represented for 16 consecutive terms during the period 1989–2021.

At the same time, we extend our deep condolences to Albanians across the globe, who have lost a great friend, a steadfast supporter, and a powerful voice in defense of their legitimate rights.

His valuable contribution to strengthening relations between the United States of America and Albanians, as well as his continued commitment to justice, peace, and the protection of human rights in the Balkans, will remain forever unforgettable.

WE WILL NOT FORGET that Congressman Eliot Engel was among the most resolute voices in condemning crimes and injustices, including the genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo, always standing on the side of justice and truth.

His political and human legacy will live on in the memory of all those who believe in freedom, dignity, and justice.

May he rest in peace.

Glory to his life and work.
